Hiking in Yunnan, China. Photo by friend Daniela.

Anna Hunter teaches social studies and government at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee. Previously I taught at the Hmong-American Peace Academy.

I completed my MS in Curriculum and Instruction at UW-Madison. I graduated from Wellesley College Spring 2019 with a degree is East Asian Studies.

I have a passion for Chinese language and culture, and have visited China several times, including a semester in southwest China, a summer internship with ABC News in Beijing, and a short water development project. I toodled all over the county, accidentally falling into rice paddies, and crashing local funeral dinners. Check my Facebook album Semester Under the Clouds for details and photos.

My interest in education grows from teaching English as a second language in Boston’s Chinatown, and from two summers with Project Transformation in Dallas and Indianapolis working with immigrant and inner-city children.

Photography is my hobby. My “baby” is an Olympus OMD EM10 mii digital camera. Together we’ve explored China, California, Route 66, Wisconsin, Maine, and more.
